About Robert W. Burton

Rob Burton was born and raised in Anne Arundel County and currently resides in Crofton with his wife Carolyn, also an Anne Arundel County native.

Rob graduated from Annapolis Area Christian School and earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from UMBC.  He worked full time as a clerk and paralegal for several Maryland firms while earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law's evening division.

After passing the Maryland Bar, Rob was hired as Staff Counsel for the Maryland State Ethics Commission.  Realizing that trial advocacy was his greatest interest, he left the Ethics Commission and spent the next several years working as an associate in a series of small firms representing plaintiffs in personal injury and workers' compensation cases, individuals charged with minor crimes, as well as clients involved in a wide variety of other matters including contract disputes and probate issues.

For the past six years, Rob has represented local government employers in workers' compensation and other employment related matters.  He is presently Associate General Counsel for the Prince George's County Board of Education, managing its workers' compensation defense program.

With over a decade of Maryland litigation experience, Rob looks forward to serving the people of Anne Arundel County as their next Circuit Court judge.
